Waterways, Wetlands and Green Infrastructure
We specialise in the assessment, rehabilitation, design, and integration of existing and constructed waterways into their surrounding environs. From discreet reaches of creek line to extensive waterways spanning many kilometres, our knowledge in this field is highly regarded.
Heritage
With specialist knowledge in the conservation, management, and renewal of heritage gardens and landscapes we combine research, comprehensive site analysis, and stakeholder collaboration with horticultural expertise to deliver innovative solutions.
Conservation
We conduct thorough site assessments to understand the ecology and history of the landscape, identifying negative impacts and developing tailored restoration plans. Our approach focuses on restoring natural systems through techniques like hydrology restoration, weed removal, pest control, controlled burns, and indigenous planting.
Active Open Space
We have extensive experience designing active open space reserves, comprising dedicated fields and courts for sport and amenities for participants and spectators.
Residential
We design unique landscape solutions for small scale projects such as private courtyards and gardens to high density developments and also broadscale Greenfield projects.
Play
We are experienced designers of play spaces. Working often in both developing and established communities to deliver unique and valued play experiences.
Commercial and Retail
We are experienced across complex small and large scale commercial and retail developments from large-scale,urban renewal projects to more intimate spaces incorporating streetscapes and urban plazas.
Institutional
We work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver functional, sustainable, and unique solutions for institutions, including hospitals, schools, universities, and government buildings.

GbLA offers a full suite of in-house landscape design and delivery services, which we can complement with landscape architecture engineers, artists and other sub-consultants as the site and project demand.
We have proven experience in leading and co-ordinating consultant teams in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects, and in collaborating closely with other expert architects as part of a consultant-led team.
